Making Metal Series: Welded Dice

Create your own metal 6 sided die or pair of dice! In this class, you will bend a precut flat metal into a cube and weld it closed to create your die that will be 3 inches cubed. You'll have the chance to practice your new welding skills before bending, welding, and finishing your die or dice!

The cost of the class includes one die. Additional blank patterns can be purchased for $30 so you can make a pair of dice or more.

This class is part of our Making Metal: Basics of Metal Fabrication Class Series! This class series focuses on all the basic skills of metal fabrication from designing your projects to using a CNC plasma cutter to welding. You can take just a few of the classes to gain some skills or take the whole series to learn all the basics! This class is easy in its difficulty and will cover the skills of Metal Bending, MIG Welding, and Metal Finishing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to wear natural materials (no spandex, nylon, etc.) and long pants that cover your boots or close toed shoes. We'll provide the rest of the safety gear you'll need.

Alan Shelton had a dream that someday everyone living near Winston-Salem would have a place to make stuff & learn stuff, and with the help of the community, led the efforts to open Mixxer Community Makerspace, to make that dream come true. Now he is working to support the inner artist and craftsperson in everyone in our community. Alan teaches metal casting, metal fabrication and welding, basic woodworking, and supports makers learning new skills at Mixxer.
