Wix Website Series 1: Web Building Basics

In the Wix Website Series you will learn how to build a fully functioning website! Session 1 will cover the basics of using Wix.com as a free* web building tool. This includes the technical elements of how to obtain and connect a domain, and the design of a basic website. We will cover designing a home page, menu, gallery, about me page, and contact form for both computer and phone screens. This class is perfect for those who want to build an online portfolio or start building their own small business!

Participants should be familiar with basic computer functions (how to use a mouse, keyboard, Google, etc.). Please bring your own laptop to work on or use one of Mixxer's!

Join us for the rest of the series with session 2 : eCommerce and 3 : Events to add additional functionality to your website!

Important note: If you're building the website with a specific intention, please bring any content that you'd like to use (logos, images, etc.). Otherwise, we will use stock images throughout the series. Please create a free account on www.wix.com before the start of class to save time.

This meet up is for makers 9 years old and older. All makers ages 16 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.  Please email workshops@wsmixxer.org for any questions.

Workshops must meet a minimum number of registrations. Mixxer may cancel workshop 48 hours prior to start time, if minimum is not met. Should you need to cancel your registration, 48 hours notice is required to request a cancellation, refund or credit to future workshop date.
