LIFT-OFF. MIXXER is now open.

You told us what you need in a community makerspace. We listened and we have a plan. Now all we need is YOU.

It takes a community to build MIXXER. Sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date. We’ll be announcing ways for you to get involved soon.

There are great things happening in Winston-Salem. We will be posting updates on developments in the maker community.

What is a Makerspace?

A maker space is like a community garden for technology & fabrication enthusiasts. It is a place where electronics meets welding, meets lasers, meets software, meets artist. An exploratory, if you will, where geeks and crafters collaborate to make cool stuff.

What Can I Make?

You will be able to cut, weld, print, carve, design, shape, all sorts of things, and more. In addition to flexible work space and community space you will find specialty tools for a wide variety of projects. When you join MIXXER, you may even make some new friends.

MIXXER, building community.

I have discovered the best in many people over the years by working together. This social connection is the “secret sauce” that will make MIXXER successful in creating equitable opportunities in our community.

Designing the MIXXER FabLab and Wood Shop over pizza.

Here is your chance to get a sneak peek at the MIXXER Woodworking Studio. Come tell us what you would like to see in the Woodworking Studio, or learn about the Woodworking Studio we are planning. Habitat for Humanity has offered the use of their woodworking shop for this event.

Please join MIXXER and CDI for bikeNIGHT.

Starting with this event September 6th, we’ll offer varied, immersive, hands-on learning engagements around a particular theme. Each evening will offer different opportunities to participate, clean (tech) and dirty (tools), easy and difficult, rapid and immersive.
